Regional News from the Seattle PI

Romney decries Calif. gay marriage ruling – Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney, who once positioned himself as an advocate of gay rights, condemned  Tuesday’s ruling in which a federal appellate court overturned California’s Prop. 8. Prop. 8, passed by a 52-48 percent margin in 2008, stopped same-sex marriages in America’s largest state, and defined marriage as between a man and a woman. “Today, unelected judges cast aside the will of the people of California who voted to protect traditional marriage,” Romney said in a statement. “This decision does not end this fight.  I expect it to go to the Supreme Court.  That prospect underscores the vital importance of this election and the movement to preserve our values.” [...]

It was covered in a white substance and terms like "funk" and "mmmm" were used while Zimmern sampled a slice.
This baby sea otter needs a name, Seattle – I was pretty excited when I heard the Seattle Aquarium is having a naming contest for its new baby sea otter. You see, when we first shared some photos of the new addition to the aquarium, I couldn't help thinking it looked an awful lot like an Oscar. (Oscar the otter. Has a ring to it, no?) Well, the otter is a female, so that's not happening. Besides, those clever folks at the aquarium aren't just letting us have a naming free-for-all. They've imagined how that might turn out -- possibly with a sea otter name Dolly or Bernice.
